KATHMANDU, July 1: The Election Commission (EC) has reviewed the May 13 local level election.
The EC held review workshops at all seven provinces and in the federal capital Kathmandu. During the review workshops, the best practices were shared and the problems were identified for future correction. The EC also collected suggestions on how the future elections could be made more effective.
Inaugurating the federal level review workshop, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the event would be helpful to identify the problems surfaced during the conduct of local elections and take measures necessary to prepare a future roadmap.
Five different groups made presentations on the entire election process including from registration for voting cards to completion of vote count. “The EC would make utmost efforts to implement viable suggestions in the coming provincial and federal elections,” Thapaliya added.
