KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The Election Commission has rejected the complaint lodged by the then party president Milan Pandey against the decision of the Election Commission (EC) regarding the Bibeksheel Sajha Party.
A statement issued by the Bibeksheel Sajha Party on Monday said that Pandey had lodged a complaint against the Election Commission's decision to update and archive the party's statute 2078 BS. He had lodged a complaint seeking review of the decision as EC’s meeting on December 27 dismissed it.

Pandey had requested the EC to reconsider the party's decision to amend the statute as it was illegal. The EC, however, ruled that the decision was in line with the Constitution of Nepal, the Political Parties Act, 2073 BS and the first amendment to the Bibeksheel Sajha Party's previous statute, 2074 BS.
Bibeksheel Sajha Party had sought an explanation from the then president Pandey saying that despite repeated warnings he had carried out parallel activities against the party's interests contrary to his official responsibilities. He was also charged with becoming constantly absent from party meetings and making baseless allegations about the party and its leadership.
