EC Chief calls on govt to create election friendly environment

KATHMANDU, April 21: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has urged the government to create environment for participation of all political parties in the upcoming local polls.

KATHMANDU, April 21: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has urged the government to create environment for participation of all political parties in the upcoming local polls.


Stating that Election Commission has created all necessary environment for May 14 local polls, CEC Yadav urged the government to expert its effort for bringing all parties on board the local polls.

Addressing a seminar program jointly organized by Central Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Tribhuvan University and JICA in Kathmandu on Friday, Yadav said that EC has been expecting exciting participation of all political parties in the elections. 


"All necessary environment for the local poll has been readied. Election commission also expects exciting participation of all political parties in the local polls," said Yadav.


Hailing the contribution of Media for periodic elections in the country,  Yadav also urged the media to become sensitive while reporting on election related issues.


Head of Central Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Professor Chiranjibi Khanal presented a paper about impartiality of media during the election reporting in Nepal.
