KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will establish at least one medical college in each province. 

Addressing the nation from the Parliament on Thursday, PM Dahal said at least one medical college will be established in all seven provinces to address the staff crunch seen in the medical sector of our country.

Dahal further said that a pool of medical staffers will be arranged to ensure the presence of the medical staffers in district hospitals.

The hospitals and health posts located in the remote areas will be equipped with medical doctors and nurses within three months, Dahal added. 

Stating that remittance is an importance source of our country , Dahal said the  government will keep record of those who are working as migrants in the foreign countries.

He further said that an advance information system will be installed at the airport  within three months to mitigate the information-related hassles faced by the Malaysia, Gulf-bound Nepali migrant workers .

Nepal is preparing to sign a deal with five other countries in a bid to widen the foreign employment market.

Load-shedding will be reduced by generating 150 MW electricity through installation of at one solar plant in all the seven provinces.

He said that the enough budget will be arranged for the DPR of Nalsingad, Upper Arun and Dhudhkosi hydro projects. Land will be acquired for Budhigandaki and environmental survey will be carried out. Transmission lines will be put up immediately and the procedure to receive permission for hydro project will be made easier.

Similarly, he said that three hydro projects of 1200 MW will be developed under the campaign named ‘Electricity for People under Their Own Investment.’ All the Nepalis including marginalized, families of martyrs, injured, poor, backward community can invest in these projects, he said.

He went on to say that infrastructures including construction of road, irrigation canals and school buildings will be initiated to generate employment to the poor people in each province.

Pokhara Regional International Airport will be brought into operation immediately while the construction of Second International Bara Airport will be expedited, said Dahal. 

At least one industry will be established in each province, said Dahal.

He further said that Melamchi Water Drinking Project will be brought into operation immediately and Kathmandu-Tarai fast-track, Lumbini Master Plan will be expedited.

The Prime Minister further said that tunnel construction works for Rupandehi-Palpa and a detailed project report for the East-West Electric Railway will also be completed this year. 

The projects of national pride—Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track , Postal Highway, East-West railroad , Koshi , Gandaki and Karnali North - South Public Road Implementation will be carried out rapidly, the PM said.

He further said that necessary budget for the road construction in Hilly region will also be managed very soon and some 100 smart villages will be set up as a country’s model.
