KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The Kathmandu Valley witnessed continued deterioration of the quality of air on Monday as well.
The highest PM 2.5 reading was recorded at 179.07 μg/m³ in the morning between 9 and 10 while the cleanest air in the country’s capital city (88.33 μg/m³) was witnessed in the afternoon between 2 pm and 3 pm.

The air quality is regarded to be poorer as compared to the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO) --- 25 μg/m³--- and a threshold set by the Government of Nepal (40 μg/m³).
