BHAKTAPUR, March 15: A monitoring team from Bhaktapur Municipality has found a store selling counterfeit sanitizers in the district. The authorities have summoned the representatives of the concerned company at municipal office for clarification.

"Normally, hand sanitizers turn dry as soon as they are applied on hands. But the particular company's sanitizer does not get dry," said Raj Krishna Gora, coordinator of the market monitoring committee of the municipality. He added that the duplicate sanitizer was found at a shop at Dhudpani area of Bhaktapur Municipality – 1.

The municipality office has intensified monitoring in the market since the last few days. Those who have been selling masks and sanitizers at additional price have also been booked. According to Gora, the same company's sanitizers must be there in other shops as well and the team has been checking them as well.

"We gave warnings to some medical shops during the monitoring. We decided to take action against some of them as per their activities," said Gora. "We also have to ensure that there is no scarcity of essential drugs and other stuffs in the market," he added.

Locals have appreciated this initiative of the municipality.
