Drive against substandard food continues: Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav today expressed his commitment to continuing its drive to book those producing and selling substandard food items despite pressure.

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav today expressed his commitment to continuing its drive to book those producing and selling substandard food items despite pressure. 


Informing that the ministry was carrying out its all activities in an integrated and coordinated way, he said efforts have been initiated to amend laws in order to ensure people's rights to healthy food and food supply. The minister was talking to media-persons at his office.

On the Nimbus Industry in Birgunj, which was found during a monitoring to have been importing cooking oil from foreign countries despite having a licence to produce it within Nepal, he said preparations were underway to call the industry operator for clarification after sealing off the industry. "The industry operator will face action if proved guilty," he said. 


He also pledged to continue the market monitoring drive would continue in coming days.
