BUTWAL, Jan 23: Drinking water pipes worth hundreds of thousands of rupees have been gutted in a fire at Simanagar, Tilottama-4, Rupandehi.


Piles of pipes owned by a project under the Federal Drinking Water and Sewage Management caught fire at around 11AM on Saturday. The pipes were stored on the premises of Shankar Nagar Drinking Water and Sanitation Organization.

The fire was doused by fire brigades brought in from Butwal, Tilottama and Siddharthanagar within 45 minutes of the incident, said Pratit Singh Rathore,  DSP at Area Police Office, Butwal.


“We are yet to find out the reason behind the incident. Investigation is underway.”
