KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The heath condition of Dr Govinda KC, who is staging a fast-onto-death since September 26, is deteriorating.
His blood oxygen level has become low and his heartbeat has also quickened since Sunday morning, according to Physician Dr Dibya Singh Shaha.
His health condition has visibly deteriorated on Sunday as his body has weakened and he has been facing problem in speaking, she said.
“He needs oxygen supply continuously to maintain oxygen saturation in the blood. He is suffering from dizziness, weaknesses and chest and muscle pain,” said Shaha.
Similarly, his blood report showed a decline in glucose level. Senior orthopedic surgeon at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Dr KC had started 9th fast-onto-death just three month after calling off his eighth hunger strike.
His health condition has become weaker due to frequent hunger strike, doctors said. “Dr KC needs intensive care at this stage,” another doctor involved in his treatment said. “But he has refused to take any additional treatment."
