KATHMANDU, July 19: Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that discussions are currently underway to finalize the electoral alliance by Thursday.
On Tuesday, Chairman Dahal held a meeting with Dr Baburam Bhattarai in Singh Darbar. Dahal told the media that he had a general political meeting with Dr Bhattari, who is preparing to quit the Janata Samajwadi Party and form a new party under his leadership.
Chairman Dahal said that they had discussion on the issue of forming an electoral alliance. “There is an agreement to hold talks with other parties to form an alliance,” he said.
Early setback for left alliance as Bhattarai decides to quit
Chairman Dahal said that the decision of the Nepali Congress Central Committee to form an alliance in the upcoming elections was a correct decision. He also said that they will go with the alliance till the upcoming federal and provincial assembly election.
"Nepali Congress has taken the right decision. We also want to continue with this alliance. We have no intention of moving here and there. Dr Bhattarai is also in the alliance. He has said that he will not leave this alliance under any circumstances,” he said.
