Dr Bhattarai fears instability to continue

GORKHA, Sept 3: Vice-Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has expressed his fear that there wouldn´t be a way out of the fluid political situation and the continuation of the political deadlock would push the country into abyss.



Speaking at a press meet organised by Revolutionary Journalists´ Association, Gorkha chapter, on Friday, he said that there might be efforts in the making to fail the Constituent Assembly and impose army rule or fascist rule in the name of president rule and push the country into another conflict.[break]



Nepali people should be more conscious and careful to safeguard big achievements such as republic, federalism and secularism gained thorough great sacrifice, he said.



Replying a query of reporters, Dr. Bhattarai, also the former Finance Minister, said there is no alternative to withdrawal of candidacies by both the prime ministerial candidates and pave the way for forging fresh consensus to form a national government.



Asked about his party´s working direction, Dr. Bhattarai said, "Peace and constitution is the main target."
