DANG, Sept 16: The Lumbini Province Government has appointed Dr Dilli Raj Aryal as the vice-chairperson of the Provincial Planning Commission. 


A provincial Cabinet meeting earlier today decided to appoint Aryal as the vice-chairperson of the Provincial Planning Commission, according to Minister for Industry, Tourism, and Transport, Prachanda Bikram Nyaupane. Aryal is from Malika Rural Municipality-8 in Gulmi.

The meeting also appointed three members. The members include Dr Sudhan Kumar Oli from Rolpa, Bhuwan Chaudhary from Dang, and Shanta Devi Dhakal from Rupandehi, as informed by Minister Neaupane.


The Cabinet meeting also decided to recommend to the federal government the relocation of the center of Shantinagar Rural Municipality in Dang. Currently, the center is located at Chiraghat in Ward-4 of the municipality. It has been decided to recommend moving the center to Jumlekul, as stated by Minister Neupane.


The 15th Village Assembly of the rural municipality had passed a decision to change the center of the municipality with a two-thirds majority. Additionally, the Cabinet decided to recommend to the Government of Nepal the establishment of a sister-city relationship between Musikot Municipality in Gulmi and Oita Prefecture, Bungoono City in Japan for necessary decisions.
