KATHMANDU, Feb 4: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has contracted Muhlbauer ID Services GmbH, a Germany company, to supply 1.2 million units of smart license cards.
The DoTM is investing Rs 199.10 million to purchase the smart license cards. According to the department, it will finalize the design of the cards in the next 10 days. The German company will have to supply the aforementioned units of smart cards in the next three months from the date of approval of the design.
The DoTM says it has shortlisted the company out of the bidding called in October 2022. Prior to this, the department had purchased 1.4 million units of the cards from Madras Security Printers, India.
