KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) got its chairman nearly after seven months through voting on Monday.
Dor Prasad Upadhyay from the CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected as the chairman of the PAC.
Only 39 of the 50-member Committee were present at the time of voting today.
Present in the voting were 15 members each from Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, seven members from CPN (Maoist Center) and Madhes-based parties while two from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and other fringe parties.
RPP, Janamorcha voted for UML candidate Pashupati Chaunlagain.
After Janardan Sharma resigned as chairperson from the post after being elected as minister on August 12 last year, the committee had remained headless.
