POKHARA, Jan 24: Newa Khala Kaski, Pokhara has opened application for interested candidates to participate in CG Miss Newa:1138. To inform people about the competition, the organization has started door-to-door program at different Newar settlements of Kaski District. 

Chairperson of the organization Ashok Pakhi, main coordinator of the competition, Gajendra Man Shrestha, Secretary General of Newa Khala Kaski, Bimal Shrestha, and Miss Newa 1137, Aasu Shakya, have been participating in door-to-door program. 

The beauty pageant aims to aware the younger generation about Newari language and culture, said Pakhi. He added, “We expect that this competition will play a huge role to develop language skills, culture and self-confidence among Newar girls.”  He said the competition was a platform to develop one’s personality, learn Newari culture as well as language, and leadership skills.

Girls between the ages of 18 to 22 years can participate in this competition. The finale will be on March 17.
