‘Dolphin Star’ Hunting Singers, Dancers and Models

DHARAN, July 5: With the aim of discovering hidden talents and using them to bring about change in the society, ‘Dolphin Star 2074’ is all set to be launched in eastern part of the country. The hunt will focus on three genres namely singing, dancing and modeling.

Dolphin Purwanchal Dharan Pvt Ltd, which focuses on open education, in association with Big Event Nepal will host the third season of Dolphin Star. Organizing a press meet, Dolphin stated that the auditions will begin from July 8 in Phidim and end by mid September. Participants who are selected to compete will be trained in singing, modeling and dancing.  The second and third round of audition is scheduled to be held on August 9.

The selected models from Miss Dolphin +2 will be given further training before they compete in the final on September 16. Chief organizer of the event Santosh Rai said, “The first year we held inter-dolphin competitions and in the second year we included all the students of open education from all over Dharan. This year, participants will be from the entire eastern region. ”

According to Santosh, the audition will be held in Taplejung, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Jhapa, Morang, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Siraha, Spatari, Udayapur and other districts of the eastern region. By the third audition, 20 finalists from each category (singing and dancing) will be selected and 30 finalists from Miss Dolphin will be chosen.  The students who have recently appeared in the SEE exams, studying or have recently completed +2 can give audition for Dolphin Star.

Dependra Niraula of Big Events said, “People often blame organizers of charging excessive money for the competition, but the truth is that most of the amount is spent on training, food and accommodation of the participants. Experts will provide various training like fitness, basic journalism, oratory skills and mobile photography, among others, to the participants for 28 days. We also take them hiking to promote tourism and even provide legal consultation on female health issues and legal rights.”

The title winners of each category will receive a total amount of Rs 44,444 cash prize. The first runner up will get Rs 22, 222 and the second runner up will receive Rs 11,111 cash prize. The winners will also be provided with scholarships.  

The press meet also announced the establishment of Big Events Nepal in eastern Nepal. 

According to Director of Big Events Biksah Rai, the organization will take initiations towards hosting social work, modeling, fashion show as well as other events and programs in the eastern part of the country.
