KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Dunai, Dolpa, experienced a record-breaking temperature in December 2024, as the minimum temperature measured at the Dunai station shattered previous records for the month. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) confirmed the occurrence of an "extremely low minimum temperature" in the area.
On December 21, the Dunai station recorded a minimum temperature of -8 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest temperature in 39 years for December, according to the DHM.

On December 28, 1985, the station recorded a minimum temperature of -7 degrees Celsius.
The DHM said that the Dunai station's average temperature during December 2024 was -5.9 degrees Celsius.
