Dolpa at high risk of climate change

DOLPA, Nov 10: The Himalayan district, Dolpa, is at high risk from climate change effects. 
This information was shared at a programme on 'climate change effects and the role of local level in mitigating it' organized in Dunai today. 

District coordinator of the Local Adaptation Plan for Action (LAPA), Santosh Khanal stressed on the need for the local levels to extend the required cooperation in the coming days for minimizing the negative effects of climate change. 

Mayor of Thulibheri municipality Ganesh Bahadur Shahi said the global warming is affecting the global climate and it was high time to mitigate the impact of climate change. 

People's representatives of almost all the local levels in the district attended the programme. In the first phase, LAPA has conducted this programme on minimizing the climate change impact in erstwhile Liku, Raha, Kaigaun, Lawan and Sahartara VDCs. 

LAPA has been implemented in five previous VDCs of Dolpa district since the last four years and it has been running various related programmes. RSS
