Dollar case cops fail to pay bail

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Kathmandu District Court sent two policemen, who allegedly looted 300,000 US dollars illegally possessed by a Tibetan businessman, to jail after they failed to pay a bail of Rs 2.5 million each on Sunday.



Makar Shrestha and Ramhari KC have been accused of looting the amount on October 17 from Dallu in Kathmandu.



The case was allegedly ´mishandled´ by Metropolitan Police Commissioner´s Office (MPCO) before handing it over to Kathmandu Police.
