Dolakha cut off with capital as flood sweeps away bridge

DOLAKHA, July 25: Flood followed by incessant rainfall swept away a bridge over Chrangekhola along the Kathmandu- Lamosangu Jiri road section cutting off transportation link with the capital.

Police Inspector Binod Dhital at District Police Office, Dolakha said flood swept away the Bailey bridge at around 6 pm on Saturday.

“The flood swept away some 200 meters of the bridge,” Dhital told Myrepublica, “The transportation with the capital has been cut off.”

The bridge was built by Swiss government while constructing the road section some 35 years ago.
