KATHMANDU, Nov 5: A total of 16 doctors at the emergency department of Bir Hospital resigned en masse as the hospital management failed to fulfill their demands.
As the management failed to provide personal equipment, masks, gloves and other protective equipment, the doctors submitted a group resignation to Kedar Century, director at the hospital, on Wednesday.
Although the hospital has been admitting COVID-19 patients, the management did not provide the needed precautionary equipment to doctors. After the hospital management didn’t fulfill our basic demands, we decided to resign in mass, said a doctor.
“At this time of pandemic, medical professionals here are working without proper safety,” the doctor added.
