SINDHUPALCHOWK, March 9: The only largest District hospital of Sindhupalchowk district is still being run inside a tent though it is 22 months since the last earthquake took place.
The space inside the tent is not only safe from strong wind but also narrow. “We are reduced to treatin g all the patients, regardless of their age and sex by keeping them in the same place”, said Dr. Surendra Kumar Chaurasiya, Medical Superitendent of the district hospital. He added that they performe delivery surgery inside the tent.
China has shown an interest in constructing a new building for the hospital. A Chinese technical team had carried out a technical survey a few weeks ago.
