District court permits police to keep Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in custody for three days

KATHMANDU, May 15: Permission has been granted to detain Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, for a period of three days for the necessary investigations.

KATHMANDU, May 15: Permission has been granted to detain Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, for a period of three days for the necessary investigations.


On Tuesday, the bench of Judge Keshav Prasad Adhikari of District Court Kathmandu gave three days time to investigate Rayamajhi.


Rayamajhi was arrested yesterday evening from Narayan Paudel’s residence in Pasikot, Budhanilkantha.

Along with him, 12 other people arrested in this case will have to appear in court again on Wednesday.


The public prosecutor's office has also instructed the police to complete its investigation within four days and hand over the detailed case file. Meanwhile, the statement of former home minister Balkrishna Khand has also been taken.


Former home minister Khand, his PA Narendra KC, Indrajit Rai, Teknarayan Pandey, Keshav Dulal, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Sanu Bhandari, Tanka Kumar Gurung, Sagar Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Ram Sharan KC and Gobinda Chaudhary are also in custody.


Police are investigating them for an alleged organized crime.
