Discussion on prospects of unconventional business

KATHMANDU, Mar 12:Clock b Business Innovations concluded another successful X-preneur session at Kaffe Codes, in Thapathali, on Sunday.  For the fifth session, X-preneur had invited Co-Founder and Managing Director of Around The Corner, Sahajnath Khadka, to share his entrepreneurship journey.

In a world where people relate entrepreneurship to information technology, Khadka shared how he stepped into hospitality business even when the sector was not regarded as a ‘respected job’ then. “The subject appealed to me from the start, but I noticed there was a lot of misconception surrounding it,” he said.

Talking about ATC, Khadka said, “I have been inspired by the restaurants abroad, especially in Malaysia and Dubai, the food there, the events and their concepts, which I wanted to bring to Nepal.”

Discussing more on the qualities of entrepreneurs, he said they need to have the right mindset and keep working hard with honesty as well as passion. He also shared his own travel stories, what he learned from them, and encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to travel more often.

Khadka also discussed the booming hospitality business in Kathmandu with the participants who had gathered at the event. He talked about the visible growth in the hospitality business and the ample scopes that have popped up in the market. “Hospitality is an art of serving. The main essence of the sector is the people in it. Hospitality business in Nepal has the biggest market and it is in an ever increasing trend. But we do have a lot to learn and explore while also improving the way we perceive and prioritize the sector,” he added.

He further discussed the possibilities of developing hospitality business in Nepal and with that promotion of culture, nature and diversity at a Q&A session with the participants. He also participated in an informal networking session with the participants.

X-preneur is a platform for youth, students, business enthusiasts and fresh graduates to have a chance to interact, network and learn from the experience of working entrepreneurs and vice versa.
