Digital payment a top priority for govt: Minister Karki

KATHMANDU, June 3: Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the government has highly prioritized transforming toward digital payment systems. He also noted that the government has been promoting digital payments to achieve it.

KATHMANDU, June 3: Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the government has highly prioritized transforming toward digital payment systems. He also noted that the government has been promoting digital payments to achieve it.


Addressing the second phase of 'Phone Pay Digital Economy Conclave 2022' organized by Brandworth Pvt Ltd in Kathmandu today, Karki said that the government is committed to considering the findings of this program and incorporating them in policy making.

He also said that this program should be transformed into sustainable economic development as well, adding that society would directly benefit from such programs. Stating that the development of the country is impossible without the development of information technology, he said that all sections of society should be brought together in information technology.


Minister Karki also mentioned that the government has also lowered internet charges to provide access to information technology to all citizens, adding that the government is also committed to making internet services more affordable and of high quality.
