KATHMANDU, April 11: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police Ramesh Kharel has said that he will step down today.
Expressing unhappiness over the IGP appointment, DIG Kharel has made up his mind to tender his resignation. “I am going to resign from my post. I will tender my resignation by today evening,” Khare told Republica Online.
Kharel had decided to step down after the government appointed DIG Sarbendra Khanal, who is 11 months junior to him, to the post of IGP yesterday, hinting that he would not continue with his job under humiliation.
