KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Did you experience a freezing sensation in your hands this morning? With temperatures dropping to 3.4 degrees, it's no surprise that the cold is making an impact. Today, a chilly atmosphere envelops most parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley. By 9 o'clock in the morning, working becomes a challenge as the hands feel the bite of the cold.


Temperatures are on the decline nationwide, with the Kathmandu Valley experiencing a recent drop to 3 to 4 degrees. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Kathmandu's temperature has reached the lowest levels, measuring between 3.2 and 3.4 degrees since Sunday.

Gobinda Jha from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology mentioned that Monday's temperature in Kathmandu hit 3.2 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest temperature recorded so far this year. As of 8:45 AM today, the temperature in Kathmandu was measured at 3.4 degrees Celsius.


Jha also said that December and January typically witness a greater drop in temperatures across the country, emphasizing that the current dip is expected given the late-January timeframe.
