Dhungana clinched gold medals in the U-14 boys´ long jump and shot put events of partially blind section. Sushil Thapa Magar of Adarsha Higher Secondary, Bhaktapur claimed silver medal in long jump while Jeevan Gurung of Amar Singh Higher Secondary, Pokhara bagged silver in shot put. Siddhant Neupane of Narayani Higher Secondary, Chitwan claimed bronze medals in both the events held at the Dasharath Stadium.
Rama Kumari Acharya of Sirjana Higher Secondary, Pokhara won the girls´ 400m sprint of partially deaf section while Rinki Kumari Mahato of Kendriya Bahira Higher Secondary and Dasi Maya Khanal of Sirjana claimed silver and bronze medals. In the 400m race of deaf boys, Daya Narayan Chaudhary (Bahira Balak Higher Secondary, Bhairahawa), Ajay Karna (Kendriya Vidyalaya) and Govinda Pradhan (Kavre Bahira Vidyalaya, Banepa) claimed the top three positions respectively.
Dhana Darlami of Shikhar Higher Secondary, Surkhet won the long jump event of totally blind girls. Rita Thapa and Roopmati Raya finished second and third in the event respectively. Ashish Khadgi of Amar Singh won the shot put event of blind boys, while Amar Deep Rai and Umesh Dhimal of Purvanchal Gyan Chakshu secured silver and bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Sana Chaudhary of Mangal Prasad Higher Secondary, Banke clinched gold medal in the long jump event of partially blind girls. Sunita Chaudhary of Panchodaya Higher Secondary and Hita Gurung of Amar Singh claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
Altogether 302 differently abled athletes -- 93 blind, 102 deaf and 107 physically challenged -- had participated in the two-day tournament organized by the National Sports Council.
