KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Dharan Sub-metropolitan City has formally requested the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) to appoint a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) without delay, citing significant disruptions to public services in the absence of the officer.
In a letter signed by Mayor Harka Sampang, the municipality emphasized that the ongoing vacancy has made it difficult to carry out essential tasks, impacting service delivery to the people of Dharan. The letter stresses that the stagnation is hampering the municipality’s ability to function efficiently, calling for immediate action.

"When will the Chief Administrative Officer of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City be sent? The work of the people here has become difficult due to stagnation. We request the ministry to send an officer promptly. The people of Dharan are also Nepali citizens. We request that the Chief Administrative Officer responsible for the work of the people of Dharan be sent immediately,” the letter stated.
