Dhanamaya Diswa becomes Palpa Folk Idol

PALPA, Nov 24: Dhanamaya Disuwa has won the ‘Palpa Folk Idol’ competition organized by the local Srinagar community television of Tansen. 

In the programme that ended on Saturday evening, Disuwa won the title also including a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 and a letter citation. Kamal Nepali and Om Prakash Sinjali ended up first and second runner-up respectively. 

A total of 138 people had competed in the event where auditions had taken place in all the ten local level units of the district. The event was organized with the objective of preserving the fading folk culture of the district, according to the organizers. RSS
