KATHMANDU, March 28: Dhanusha Cricket Association is set to organize the third Deepak Gupta Memorial T20 (DGMT) Cricket Tournament which will start from April 20 in Janakpur. Speaking at a press meet in the capital on Tuesday, the organizers informed that the third edition of the tournament will conclude on April 28. A total of eight teams will take part in the tournament which will be played in round robin league format and will be divided into two groups. The teams which will take part in the tournament are three departmental teams- Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC), Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal Police Club (NPC)- teams from Biratnagar, Birgunj and Janakpurdham and other two clubs who have been a part of the Ranji Trophy of India- Phoenix Cricket Club and Uttar Pradesh Sonnet Cricket Club. The winner of the tournament will take home Rs 311,000, while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 171,000. Likewise, the best batsman and the best bowler of the tournament will be prized with Rs 25,000 each, and the man of the series will bag a purse of Rs 30,000, informed the organizers.
