KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Chairman of Public Accounts Committee of Legislature-Parliament, Janardan Sharma resigned from his post on Friday.
He announced his resignation during a meeting of the committee held at Singha Durbar. Sharma told the meeting that he resigned as the post has been allocated for the opposition.
According to sources, Sharma resigned after his appointment as Minister for Energy was confirmed.
“I will accept if a party assigns be a new responsibility, otherwise I will work as a member of the committee,” he told the meeting, “I relinquished the post as it is for opposition parties."
Sharma said he will submit his resignation to Speaker Onsari Gharti today.
