KATHMANDU, May 11: President of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of the office bearers of the party on Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting has been summoned in the wake of President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s call to the political parties in parliament to garner majority votes in the House with the support of two or more parties to stake claim for the post of new prime minister.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli failed to acquire a vote of confidence from the members of parliament and lost his portfolio as the Prime Minister.

NC President Deuba has been claiming to form a new government under his leadership and has been holding meetings aimed at the same.
