KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that incumbent Prime Minister and re-elected party president Sher Bahadur Deuba will unify the party as one and move ahead in the upcoming elections. 

Talking to media persons after reaching PM Deuba's official residence to congratulate him on his win, Dr Mahat mentioned that Deuba had been re-elected as the party’s president by its 14th General Election because of his capability to unite the party and move forward. 

“His capability to win the trust of the establishment, as well as the rival factions, has shown his strength as a competent leader,” Mahat said. He opined that President Deuba’s strength in winning the trust of other leaders helped him in his reelection for a second time. 

Meanwhile, various party leaders and members have thronged PM Deuba’s residence to congratulate him on his win. Likewise, NC leader Abdul Sattar, who reached Baluwatar to congratulate Deuba, expressed confidence that Deuba would unite the party to give it a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections.
