An anthology of poems entitled Deshko Maato (Soil of the Motherland) written by Hemnath Ghimire was launched amidst a function in Kathmandu on Saturday.

In the collection of 45 poems, Ghimire, who is originally from Lamjung has penned several poems on affection to the motherland, his home village and on love to the nature. A civil engineer by profession, Ghimire, who has worked in several countries, has composed some poems on war, conflict and frustration. Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire in the preface of book has said the poet has beautifully depicted natural beauty and cultural grandeur while describing present political and social situation fascinatingly.
Commentator Gyannistha Gyawali of Padmakanya Multiple Campus said he found a natural flow in Ghimire’s creation just like “the flow of Kali Gandaki River”.
