Talking to media persons, Lamichhane said that he will abide by the verdict of apex court. He also asked the media to not to ask further questions as he was a ‘non-citizen.’

Earlier, the apex court had stripped his position as a lawmaker, arguing that Lamichhane had not initiated a process to take Nepali citizenship certificate after renouncing the US citizenship.

Advocate Rabi Raj Basaula and others had filed a writ petition at the apex court arguing that Lamichhane was not qualified to become a member of parliament.
