KATHMANDU, March 15: The departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club along with Shivam New Diamond Academy have advanced into the semifinals of the ongoing fifth Open Women’s National Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday.

In the group stage matches played at the Armed Police Force headquarters in Halchowk, New Diamond beat Jawalakhel Training Center in straight sets of 25-1, 25-3, 25-10, and Nepal Police defeated Dhorpatan Training Center in straight sets of 25-9, 25-3, 25-19.

New Diamond has made its way to the semifinals as the group A winner, and Army as the runner-up. Other departmental team Armed Police Force secured the semifinal berth as Group B winner and Nepal Police as the runner-up of the same group.  New Diamond will now take on Nepal Police, while Armed Police will play against Army on Thursday to reach the final scheduled for Friday.
