KATHMANDU, May 26: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to open the Department of Passport on all Sundays even as the government has introduced a public holiday on all Saturdays and Sundays. The DoP will be providing its services even on Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM beginning May 29.
The federal government, as a part of its policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year, announced to facilitate the easy availability of digital passports. The ministry stated that the decision was made keeping in view of the increased flow of service seekers at the DoP lately.
The MoFA reported that the change will remain in place until further notice. The ministry mentioned that service recipients who apply for passports by booking date and time in advance would receive passport-related services from the department in the requested time.
