RANJHA, Sept 8: Two dengue-infected patients, who were admitted to the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital for treatment, died on Wednesday.
A 86-year-old man from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-8, Bardiya and 12-year-old girl child from Tikapur Municipality-6, Kailali breathed their last during treatment, according to Chief Medical Superintendent at Bheri Hospital Dr Badri Chapagain.
According to Chapagain, the old man was admitted to the hospital on August 30 while the 12-year-old was brought to the hospital on September 4.
The old man, also suffering from asthma and respiratory complications, was being treated at ICU, Dr Chapagain shared.
The inflow of dengue-infected patients to the hospital has increased lately, the hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, Nepalgunj sub-metropolis has launched a campaign to search and destroy mosquito larva. Health Division Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis, Ram Bahadur Chand said the campaign of public awareness with search and destroy of mosquito larva is being conducted at community level with the rise in dengue cases.
