Defense Minister Khand meets Chinese counterpart

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Minister for Defense, Bal Krishna Khand, has stressed on training the focus on developing a standard on basis of cooperation and support to deal with the current security challenges facing the world. 

The Minister made the remarks during the Enhance Security Dialogue and Cooperation, Build a New Model of International Relation 7th Xiangshan Forum held in Beijing, China from October 10 to 12. Minister Khand led the Nepali delegation at the invitation of China Association for Military and China Institute Strategic Studies (CIISS).

He assured the participants of Nepal's readiness for cooperation on regional and international security policies and standards. 

The Minister also held an hour long bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart, Chang Wanquan, on Tuesday. They touched on issues of Nepal's Constitution, Chinese President's Nepal visit, security and cooperation. 

Minister Khand will return on October 16, according to the Minister's Personal Secretariat. The conference was attended by 400 officials and experts representing 59 countries and six international organizations. RSS
