SINDHUPALCHOWK, Aug 20: The number of people killed by a landslide in Lidi of Jugal Rural Municipality-2 in Sindhupalchowk district last Friday has reached 29.
Bodies of three people who were missing in the disaster were found earlier on Thursday. Bodies of Lalita Dong, 18, Bibirani Dong, 42, Sanu Kanchha Dong,5, and Hira Bahadur Dong, 44, were recovered from the landslide debris, told Hari Bhattarai, Police inspector at the area Police Office Jalbire.
A joint search and rescue squad of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force has been mobilized to search for 10 people who are still missing.
The landslide swept away as many as 37 houses and left 39 people missing.
