ITAHARI, Aug. 4: The death toll from last week's violent clash in Dewanganj, Sunsari, has risen to three after another injured victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Twenty-one-year-old Rabindra Mehta of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3 died while undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning, according to the Sunsari District Police Office. He was airlifted to Kathmandu after doctors in Biratnagar were unable to provide the required treatment.

The violence erupted on July 26 after a clash between people from two religious groups in Kaptanganj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, turned violent. With Rabindra's death, the number of fatalities from the incident has climbed to three.
Earlier, 25-year-old Om Prakash Mehta died on the night of July 26, while 21-year-old Jay Prakash Mehta succumbed to his injuries at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar on Thursday night.
