"Taking advantage of the transitional period criminals are carrying out various criminal activities and to reign in such activities it is necessary to have a strong government," he said speaking at a programme organised by Nepal Civil Service Union in Kathmandu on Friday.[break]
The failure to form a new government even two months after the Prime Minister´s resignation has created problems in maintaining peace and security in the country, he said, adding that he does not like to stay even one minute being the Home Minister of the caretaker government.
"Why the senior leader of the responsible parties, who claimed publicly that a new prime minister will be selected right after Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal´s resignation have failed to do so?" he asked.
Rawal said that the country should not be made a prisoner of indecision and political consensus should be forged at the earliest to form a new government and stressed on the need for establishing coordination among parties and civil servants to cater to the service recipients.
On the occasion, the minister awarded the children of civil servants working at home ministry, who secured good marks in the last SLC examination, with appreciation letters and cash.
At the programme, Home Ministry Under-Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal stressed that bureaucracy should not stand divided, but stay united.
