NAWALPARASI, April 7: The notice issued by the Nawalparasi Local Administration calling on public to submit arms in their possession to the local police administration in view of the upcoming local-level election has fallen on deaf ears.
The local administration earlier issued a public notice urging the people holding license for keeping arms to turn in the arms to the district administration or the nearest police station within March 29 this year. But nobody has turned up at the local police administration, abiding the call, said Nawalparasi's Chief District Office Uday Bahadur Rana.
The Nawalparasi District Administration Office's data shows that licenses have been issued for keeping 335 different firearms for personal security purpose in the district.
The call to handover the arms was issued in view of the security in the upcoming local-election, the Office said. RSS
