Dattatreya Museum catches fire, three wooden windows destroyed

BHAKTAPUR, Oct 31: A fire erupted at the Dattatreya Museum, adjacent to Dattatreya Temple in Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur district, has reduced three artistic wooden windows to ashes.

BHAKTAPUR, Oct 31: A fire erupted at the Dattatreya Museum, adjacent to Dattatreya Temple in Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur district, has reduced three artistic wooden windows to ashes.


The preliminary investigation revealed that fire broke out from the traditional oil lamps lit during the celebration of Dipawali on Sunday night.

The wooden beam in the museum is first believed to have caught fire after heat in the lamps ignited fire, said Kiran Bajracharya, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.


The fire was brought under control through joint efforts of police and fire brigade personnel. RSS
