Puskar Badal, 32, from Darchula is a firefighter stationed at Basantapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu. He started in firefighting in November 2017. He is amongst five who were sent to the fire station from Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office.


He says that he has come a long way from home just to make a man out of himself. He says he feels no fear while doing his duty. He believes that responsibility comes first for everyone, and it is his responsibility to save people. “I will do

anything to fulfill my duty,” he adds. Although Badal misses his family back home, he feels like he is with his other family when at office. Asked whether he regrets his choice to come to the city, he said, “I did what I had to do to earn a living, and I don’t regret anything.”
