KATHMANDU, July 29: The District Administration Office (DAO), Saptari has concluded 81 cases related to loan-sharking that were filed in Rajbiraj. According to the DAO, Saptari, out of the 1,579 applications received in the Saptari district, 81 petitions have been rejected while discussions are being held on a daily basis for the past few days.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Bhupendra Thapa said that discussions on the petitions are underway at the DAO. He said, “Now the discussion is being held in two places, we want the cases to be resolved as soon as possible.” According to him, based on the application given by the loan-shark victims, the victims and the perpetrator will be called and discussions will be held.

CDO Thapa stated that the discussions were conducted in the presence of one person from the district administration office and one person from the district police office on behalf of the victim and the perpetrator. He said that if necessary, the employees of Land Revenue and Surveyor Office are also made to participate in the discussion. According to him, so far 803 discussions have been held. CDO Thapa said that the mortgage documents (tamsuk) worth 28.8 million have been torn and 12 bigha 12 katha 16 dhur land returned to the victims.
