Elderly fined Rs 10,000 for correcting his date of birth in citizenship certificate

GORKHA, June 13: A 90-year-old man has been fined Rs 10,000 by the District Administration Office (DAO), Gorkha, for correcting his age in his citizenship certificate.

GORKHA, June 13: A 90-year-old man has been fined Rs 10,000 by the District Administration Office (DAO), Gorkha, for correcting his age in his citizenship certificate.


According to Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, Chandra Prasad Pandey of Barpak, Sulikot Rural Municipality-7 has corrected his birth date in his citizenship certificate.

"The birth date of 1990 BS was mentioned in the citizenship certificate, but he scribbled and changed it to 1983 BS," Officer Bhusal said. He added, “We have fined him with a sum of Rs 10,000. We have asked that the amount of security allowance taken from the state fund after correcting the date of birth should be recovered from the concerned municipality,” Officer Bhusal further stated.


The DAO Gorkha has sent a letter to Barpak, Sulikot Rural Municipality and asked for the details of how much allowance Pandey received from the state fund after correcting his age.
