KATHMANDU, May 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday surged 62.25 points to close at 2,673.69 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,611.44 points and remained almost stable for the first one and a half hours. The market however went to an upward graph in the remaining period, while the index grew by an overall 2.38 percent.

All the 13 groups witnessed their market values incline in the intraday trading. The non-life insurance index increased the largest of 330.10 points, while a total of seven groups had their indices rise by three-digit points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined 10.97 points. Daily turnover amount escalated to Rs 10.51 billion from Rs 8.74 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 227 were gainers while 18 were recorded as losers. Sanima Mai Hydropower had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 592.09 million.
Nepal Micro Insurance Company and Crest Micro Life Insurance were the topmost gainers. Nyadi Hydropower Limited with a decline of 4.50 percent of its market price was recorded as the highest loser.
