KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Nepal recorded 11,352 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday along with 613 recoveries and four deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 23,409 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 9,502 PCR and 1,850 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 48,126 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 46,515 are in self-isolation, 1,414 in institutional isolation, 169 in ICUs, and 28 on ventilators. Similarly, 126 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,624 people have died of viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 6,343 cases of the virus on Wednesday. Of them, 4,666 were recorded in Kathmandu, 578 in Bhaktapur, and 1,099 in Lalitpur districts.
